Shoulder conditions and treatments
Information on shoulder pain, rotator cuff problems, arthritis, instability, frozen shoulder and injuries. Patients are seen from Birmingham, the West Midlands, Worcestershire and surrounding areas.
Assessment that starts with the diagnosis.
Mr Gella provides specialist assessment and treatment for a wide range of shoulder symptoms, injuries and longer-term conditions. Patients commonly seek advice for shoulder pain, stiffness, weakness, instability, arthritis, tendon injuries and sports or work-related problems affecting movement and function.
Assessment begins with a detailed discussion of symptoms, medical history, daily activities and treatment goals, followed by careful examination of the shoulder. Where appropriate, imaging or investigations such as X-rays, ultrasound or MRI scans may be recommended to help clarify the diagnosis and guide treatment decisions.
Treatment recommendations are tailored to the individual patient and depend on the nature and severity of the condition, the impact on daily life and personal goals for recovery. Non-operative treatment is considered first where appropriate and may include physiotherapy, activity modification, medication, injections or observation. Surgical treatment may be discussed when symptoms persist despite conservative management, when investigations suggest it is appropriate, or when a patient’s goals are unlikely to be achieved without intervention.
